Exhaust heat utilization for the demand-led exhaust air system
Energetic upgrading of the demand-led exhaust air system
The structural requirements for housing construction are aimed at reducing energy consumption ever further (EnEV 2016). The sharper the requirements for the air-tightness of buildings, the more urgent is the use of a user-independent and required ventilation, since:
The right quantity of air is always dependent on the situation: during the day the demand for fresh air in the used living space is greater than in the bedrooms; At night this is exactly the opposite, according to the use and occupancy of the rooms.
The use of a demand-led exhaust air system reduces the heat losses to the ventilation to a minimum. Only air, as well as hygienic and physically necessary, is transported into and out of the required space.
A further step in the energetic optimization of this ventilation system is the heat recovery by means of exhaust air heating. Thanks to an upstream heat exchanger, most of the energy is supplied from the exhaust air of the heat generating system. Support for heating and hot water is therefore ensured.
In addition to KfW, the Investitions- und Förderbank Hamburg (IFB), for example, promotes this measure as WRG ≥75% for new buildings and refurbishments.
